Like many PhD students, when Elisabeth Jones thinks about the path to successfully defending her dissertation, it can be daunting. This summer, she took some time away from thinking about the how and why of her studies in information science to get some perspective—the type of perspective one can only get at 14,410 feet, the elevation atop Washington’s Mount Rainier.
