Graduation Information
Apply to graduate
Students who wish to graduate during winter, spring or summer quarter must attend a graduation session to complete application paperwork in the autumn quarter of their final academic year. These sessions typically occur in late November.
Please run the degree audit via MyUW regularly to ensure that you are making timely progress toward the degree. If there are any discrepancies or questions, contact the Informatics academic adviser as soon as you can.
Double Degrees
Students pursuing double degrees will need a minimum of 225 credits to graduate. Double degree students will submit two applications and receive two diplomas. Individual departments handle graduation application differently, so check with your other department to ensure that you are following their departmental application process. In general, students should apply to graduate for both degrees during the same quarter, even if they complete one degree's requirements early.
Minors
Minors are included as part of your major degree application but be sure to run a separate minor degree audit when checking on your academic progress. If requirements for the minor are not met, the major degree will not be awarded.
Recognition: Dean's List, Baccalaureate Honors and Phi Beta Kappa
For Deans List, student must attain GPA of 3.50 in the final grades with minimum 12 graded credits per quarter. For more information, see the UW Dean's List Info. Summa Cum Laude is the top 0.5%, Magna Cum Laude is the next 3%, and Cum Laude is the next 6.5%. Information School Baccalaureate Honors requirements (2006-07): Cum Laude (3.76), Magna Cum Laude (3.80), Summa Cum Laude (3.91)
