Official iSchool Announcement Lists
iAnnounce - A school-wide email list that all faculty, staff, and students must be subscribed to. Postings to iAnnounce are considered official announcements from the school. Important news, notices, and deadlines relevant to all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other iSchool community members are sent via iAnnounce. The school approves all new subscription requests and moderates the list to insure proper postings.

iMajors - A list that all undergraduate Informatics majors are required to be subscribed to. Official news, announcements, notices, internships, or deadlines that are unique to undergraduate majors are posted to this list.

iMLIS - A list that all Residential and Distance MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) graduate students are required to be subscribed to. Official news, announcements, notices, or deadlines that are unique to MLIS students are posted to this list.

Archives and Preservation Club - The Archivists discussion list is a place for members to discuss issues pertaining to archives and preservation, and to learn more about the study of archives. We welcome members from all UW departments.

iArts - A group and listserv for the iSchool community interested in creating, living and enjoying art. This an open list that anyone can subscribe to.

BookArtsIG - The Book Arts Interest Group promotes an awareness of the power of independent publishing and the important role of libraries in supporting and preserving book arts.
iChat - A general chat list for students in the school. iChat hosts informal discussions, social talk etc. This is an open list that anyone can subscribe and post to.

iDiversity - A list that will have announcements of scholarships, internships, residency programs, etc. that relate to diversity, particularly diversity as it relates to groups that have historically been under-represented in the library and information professions. This is an open list, anyone can subscribe or post a message here.

iKnit - A group and listserv for iSchoolers who enjoy knitting and crocheting. This an open list that anyone can subscribe to.

iParent - iParent provides a forum for iSchool students to exchange information on parenting issues such as childcare, schools, and how to study when the kids are making a racket all around you. iSchool faculty and staff are also welcome to join the list.

iProJobs - This list is for professional job postings (opportunities that are available to students upon graduation). This is an open list that anyone can subscribe and post to. Employers can address messages to iprojobs@u.washington.edu and they will be posted.

iServe - iServe is an iSchool group and listserv for volunteer and service opportunities related to the information professions. The list will have announcements for the group and about volunteer opportunities. This an open list that anyone can subscribe to.

iStuJobs - This list is for student job postings (opportunities that are available to students while they are in school). This is an open list that anyone can subscribe and post to. Employers can simply address messages to istujobs@u.washington.edu and they will be posted.

iTech - This list is a forum for anyone (students, faculty, staff) to participate in discussions about technology. It also provides a place to ask specific technical questions of fellow users of technology in the iSchool. The list is completely open, anyone can subscribe and post messages.

iWorld - This list is open to all iSchool students to discuss and post issues related to international library and information science . Topics include the digital divide, foreign libraries and employment, and technology in developing countries.

iYouth - This list is open to anyone interested in sharing knowledge about youth-related issues in libraries. The purpose is to create a network of colleagues to be used as a resource for questions, ideas, and events relating to children's and young adult services in libraries.
