The all iSchool New Student Orientation and Fair provides new students with the opportunity to meet our faculty, staff, and new iSchool colleagues from all four programs (MLIS, MSIM, PhD Information Science, and BS Informatics). Harry Bruce, the Dean, and many iSchool faculty will speak and officially welcome new students.
All iSchool Fair

Immediately following the orientation, the iSchool Fair will feature UW and iSchool organizations and student resources. Faculty will be available to discuss their research areas, and student groups and other campus groups will host information tables. Refreshments served.
iWelcome Week events

iWelcome Week is the iSchool's annual set of events to welcome and orient new iSchool students. (Events will be posted to the main iWelcome Calendar as they are announced.)

Network Resources Workshop for New Residential MLIS Students

In order to meet the needs of new students who are unfamiliar with many of the UW specific network tools and resources that are basics for communication and mobility in our MLIS program, the iSchool offers, free of charge, a Network Resources Workshop (NRW). Students are expected to "hit the ground running," in our courses, so although attendance at NRW is optional, it is essential that students attend the NRW if they are unfamiliar with the tools and resources covered in the workshop.
Due to a limited number of seats students are required to RSVP for the workshop.
